Ninja Concept: Face Detail

"It's said that a masked ninja must never show his face. But for you, I'll make an exception..."

Here's another concept picture for my ninja game. This time I tried to concentrate on faces. Yes, I even drew the masked ninjas' unmasked faces, so you know they're human! For reference (yes, I tried to used reference this time, heheh), I used the "King of Fighters: Evolution" game manual (the one that's in the disc cover) for Dreamcast. I really like the style that SNK uses for their characters in that manual, so I observed how the faces where detailed. It really helped me a lot with facial proportions. Stuff like not letting the eyebrows float too high, and the nose not being too long, as well as the correct way of drawing ears/earlobes. The manual did consist of a lot of peepz smilin', so I think that rubbed off on my drawing as well, heheh. I also changed some of the character's costume colors from their original. The characters in the last row are some newly added characters.

The scanner doesn't do justice to the picture however, I think the original looks a lot better, but hope you all can make 'em out. Drawn in mechanical pencil and colored with Crayola colored pencils (I'm so cheap, heheh).

The characters are as follows, from left to right, top to bottom:
Ansatsu/Jin Since I colored him first, I realized how rusty I was at coloring...

Master Hiroshi Looks short 'cuz of where I started to draw him, heheh.
Seizu/Koji Evil guy's gotta have long hair, heheh.
Kirigami No see-through mouth cover, so you can see her smile!
Feng-Li No hat to cover his eyes!
Mitsuhana "Tori-ah!!!"
Gounabi/Tohrunaka Evil laughter... so stereotypical of a villian...
Ryan/Raiden "What are you talking about?"
Fatima and Sheik Fatima is whistling to her pet falcon, Sheik.
Yoru/Tony My lil' bro's character.
Katrina-chan Katrina, smiling!
Takuma Master ranked ninja, using chiropractic needles and hand-to-hand fighting style.
Konoko Takuma's young apprintece, though has a deep interest in recreational activity than fighting.
Master Wu-Ch'in Killed by Ansatsu and Harumi. Father of Feng-Li.
Takesuke Commits seppuku. Older brother of Mitsuhana.
If you're wondering about the names after the "/" marks, those are just secondary names the the character's are also called by. I'm gonna try to fit those in the game and/or comic, if I ever find time to make either that is, heheh. Links of the names take you to the original designs.
